Hi friends! I’m Kathy. I’m excited that you have come over to my blog! I started For the Animals We Love blog in 2016, after purchasing a brick and mortar feed store in January 2016. I love my customers and all the work that I do at the store but I wanted to find a way to connect with others about animal issues that I am passionate about. I have wanted to blog for a long time and I finally decided that a blog would be a fantastic complement to what I have learned owning my store and a way to share that knowledge with everyone. I want to share information on all aspects of owning and raising animals from healthy foods to animal healthcare. I hope that everyone will keep reading and join me in keeping our furry friends healthy.

About Me

I have found a career that I love, but never in a million years did I think this is the career I would have. I went to college right after high school, and received my Bachelor’s degree in accounting. I worked for a couple of CPA firms before I realized that I needed to be in business for myself. I ran my own accounting business for almost 30 years. When the store opportunity arose through several unforeseen life changes, I couldn’t pass it up and here I am.

I have a wonderful husband and daughter. As my daughter will be graduating from high school in the next year and going off to college, I decided that I could add another thing to my busy life. I have always liked to write, and by being an accountant, I never really had an outlet for my writing. My father was also a writer, putting pen to paper about his life on the Colorado eastern prairie. I guess I got my love of writing from him. Born and raised in Colorado, I love the beautiful this state and would not want to live anywhere else.
